
Dr. Daniel McGovern
DMD, MS, Dentist
Daniel C. McGovern, DMD, MS, is a native of Albany, GA. He attended Georgia Southern University, where he obtained a bachelor of science in biology and a master of science in microbiology. After graduation, Dr. McGovern worked at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, GA, as a microbiologist conducting hepatitis research.
Dr. McGovern then obtained his doctorate of dental medicine from the Dental College of Georgia in 2018. Following graduation, he continued his dental education with a hospital-based General Practice Residency program at the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta.
During residency, Dr. McGovern became proficient in IV conscious sedation, dental implant placement, wisdom teeth removal, and treating dentally complex patients.
Dr. McGovern is an active member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his daughter, Adleigh, and his wife. He is also an avid sports fan and enjoys rooting for his favorite teams, the Florida State Seminoles, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons.
Dr. Jancy A. Parkerson-McGovern
DMD, FICOI, Dentist
Jancy A. Parkerson-McGovern, DMD, FICOI, is a native of Eastman, GA. She attended Mercer University, where she obtained her bachelor of science in psychology and chemistry in 2009 with magna cum laude honors. She then obtained her doctorate of dental medicine from The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University (formerly Medical College of Georgia) in 2013. After graduation, Dr. Parkerson continued her dental education with a two-year General Practice Residency at The Dental College of Georgia. During residency, she became proficient in various surgical aspects of dentistry, such as dental implants, IV conscious sedation, and treating dentally complex patients.
After residency, Dr. Parkerson entered into private practice as an independent contractor at various offices in the Augusta metro area, where she practiced for several years. During that time, she also served as a part-time clinical instructor in the Department of Restorative Science and General Practice Residency at The Dental College of Georgia.
She enjoys practicing with her husband, Dr. Daniel McGovern, and serving patients together. In her practice, she focuses on comprehensive care with an emphasis on surgical, sedation, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Parkerson also incorporates facial rejuvenation and injectables into her practice to treat comprehensive facial aesthetics. She enjoys lecturing to colleagues on facial aesthetics, injectables, and dermal fillers.
In Dr. Parkerson’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, Adleigh. She also enjoys ballroom dancing and Pilates.
